Employment Essentials for Supervisors and Entrepreneurs in the Adventure Services Sector

A concise introduction to employment matters for supervisors and business owners who apply the Collective Agreement for the Adventure Services Sector.

During this training day, participants will become familiar with the regulations governing working time, shift planning, and absences of employees in the adventure services sector, with a particular focus on seasonal workers. The course will also provide an overview of issues related to concluding and amending employment contracts, employment terms and conditions, and handling potential employment-related problem situations.

Course Objective

The objective of the course is that, by the end of the day, participants will understand the key employer obligations related to employment relationships in the adventure services sector and be able to resolve practical employment issues that arise in supervisory work.

Topics Covered

  • Concluding and amending employment contracts
  • Rights and obligations arising from the employment relationship
  • Working time provisions and working time arrangements applicable to seasonal employees
  • Determination of pay and factors that increase remuneration
  • Incapacity for work and other absences
  • Addressing workplace issues and options for terminating an employment relationship

Who Should Attend?

This training is intended for entrepreneurs, supervisors, and other personnel responsible for HR matters in companies operating in the adventure services sector, as well as those moving into such roles.

Trainer

The training will be delivered by Sami Nisametdin, Legal Counsel at MaRa (Finnish Hospitality Association).

Webinar

The course will be conducted as a webinar. Participants may submit questions electronically during the course or send them to the trainer in advance.

Cancellations

If participation is cancelled after the final cancellation date (27 September), 50% of the course fee will be charged. If participation is cancelled two days before the event or later, or if no cancellation is made, the full course fee will be charged.

The course will be held subject to a sufficient number of participants. MaRa will notify participants of any cancellation no later than five days before the course. In the event of cancellation by MaRa, the association is not responsible for any costs incurred to the registered participants.
